Awards for Teaching Excellence

The Premier’s Awards for Teaching Excellence recognize educators and staff who excel at unlocking the potential of Ontario’s young people.

The Ontario Ministry of Education has just announced the Premier’s Awards Recipients for 2010-11:

If you scroll down to the section on Lifetime Achievement, you’ll find our wonderful friend, Lea Lacerenza. Lea is a key player in the success of Sick Kids PHAST program under Dr. Maureen Lovett and the Learning Disabilities Research Program (LDRP). I can’t think of anyone who deserves this award more. I’m sending out this notice because Lea would be the last person to toot her own horn. Not all of us receive awards for our work, so I say congratulations to you too.

Let us celebrate our daily and weekly successes with students whose path to learning is not always smooth and straight.
